ASSISTID Fellowships
Under the ASSISTID Fellowship Programme, RESPECT will part fund researchers between now and 2019 through its research institute DOCTRID to investigate how assistive technologies and other supports can increase communication, social inclusion, education and employment for people with ID or autism.
Their aims are:
- To increase our understanding of ID and autism
- To raise awareness of the potential of technology as a tool to support people in their everyday lives
- To train a new and unique cohort of researchers and practitioners who will lead the way in changing disability policy and practice
MSU-Hegarty Fellowships
Michigan State University and RESPECT are co-funding a total of 9 fellowships to provide training for postdoctoral researchers that have interests in the areas of autism spectrum disorders and intellectual and other neurodevelopmental disabilities. These are called the MSU-Hegarty Fellowships, named in honour of the late Sister Martha Hegarty who was a visionary and leader in the design and development of DOCTRID.
